What to send
Any one of these is enough to start:
- A 3D file — STL, STEP, 3MF or OBJ. STEP is ideal if you have it, since it can be modified cleanly.
- A sketch with dimensions — pencil on paper photographed with a phone is genuinely fine.
- Photos of the original — several angles, with a ruler or calipers in shot for scale.
- The broken part itself — often the fastest route for anything with a complicated profile.
Things worth mentioning up front
- Where it lives. Indoors, outdoors, in a car, near heat — this decides the material more than anything else.
- How many. One, or ten, or a hundred — it changes the price per part significantly.
- What it has to fit. Any dimension that must be exact, so we can test that face before printing the lot.
- When you need it. If there's a deadline, say so early.
Not sure it can be printed? Ask anyway. If 3D printing is the wrong answer for your part we'll say so, and point you at what isn't — machining, casting, or simply buying one.
